Since starting its operations in 1995, Heubach India has enriched the bio-diversity of the area with an extensive plantation program of local flora and an in-house nursery. The long term plan is to plant enough trees to compensate with O2 for the CO2 emissions from our production plants. Before 1998, the number of plant species on site was only 30. Today, this number has risen to 296 as a result of the implementation of Heubach’s environment program. The Greening program has resulted in planting close to 25000 trees in and around the plant area. Heubach has also achieved great success in enriching the fauna of the site.

Practicing biodiversity in the plantation program resulted in 37 species of birds being spotted at Heubach sites from the previous 2 species 12 years ago.

Heubach India’s employees have also developed a Vermiculture project. Kitchen waste is treated in a Vermiculture pit to produce high quality manure that is the only fertilizer used in the premises. Vermiculture plant also converts sludge into manure, with no additional waste generated and at no additional costs.
